Our Mission

The school was established in 1973. It was set up to provide an English type education to the children of expatriates living in Sabah and those who wish to pursue education overseas. The school follows the English National Curriculum and accepts students between the ages of 3 and 16. The medium of instruction is English.

"The Kinabalu International School aims to provide an excellent British-style education in an international context, and a happy, stable and secure environment that --

bullet

challenges students to reach the highest possible academic standards;

bullet

encourages all students to develop their individual talents and abilities and to aspire to excellence, whether it be in the academic arena; creative or performing arts or in the field of sports; and

bullet

fosters the development of social skills, patterns of behaviour, environmental awareness and positive learning habits for them to achieve their full potential as responsible world citizens."
